The market did as well this week as it did last week- little change in the numbers. There are 64 single family homes for sale in Herndon/Oak Hill - the same as last week. We had 7 homes sell this week. It looks like the low interest rates are maintaining our market. Saw one new short sale come up but not new activity in the foreclosures or short sale market. We are heading into the slowest month of the year - August - big month for vacations and very hot to get in and out of houses and cars. You can see a slight drop in the house prices from the high before the government incentive program was taken away May 1st.  It seems that the sellers are having to put in new kitchens and bathrooms to sell their homes if they were built in the 1980s and prior and paint their home with neutral colors if they want to see top dollar for their homes. Homes that have been too personalized are sitting on the market. Overall, the market seems healthy and maintaining itself.
