Happy Halloween! Well, all I can say about the real estate market is that it is very unpredictable. After 2 very slow weeks for whatever reason that it was slow, we now had a great week and not sure why. I would much rather have weeks like this week. We have 39 single family homes for sale in Oak Hill/Herndon which is really low - we are getting down to the inventory numbers that we had in early 2000s when the market was hot. Two were foreclosures but the rest were seller sold homes - great week for sellers. Most of the homes were on the market for awhile - over 30 days -  except the one I listed on Petersborough. It was on the market 6 days when it got a contract. It showed dated with a lot of the home's interior being original but the seller worked hard at decluttering and trimming all the overgrown plant life and he was rewarded for his efforts. We actually got about $25,000 more than a very similar home sold 3 months ago. It also was dated but the sellers had listed the home way too high and then it finally sold at a price that was really low after it had been on the market for 100 days. We are now officially starting to enter into the Holiday season so we will see what happens to real estate.
