The market did pretty well through the Holidays – better than in years past. It is great  to be at the start of January and will be interesting  to see where the market goes this year. We had 4 homes sell this past week which is pretty amazing. One of them was a foreclosure on Etruscan in Fox Mill Estates. The market is quiet as far as new listings coming on the market. The market is still doing well with the number of listings selling each week through December. I would expect to have a good Spring market based on the selling numbers in December. Hard to predict but hindsight will tell us.  We have 26 single family homes on the market. The market continues to slowly go through the month of December. We still have  27 single family homes on the market in OakHill/Herndon. We have only 27 single family homes for sale in Oak Hill/Herndon. Some houses that have been on the market over 120 days sold this week. We did not have any new listings come on the market this week . It seems homes are still selling but the time on the market has increased dramatically and the prices seem to be depressed – which is to be expected this time of the year.  Hopefully, we will have a stable 2012!

The market continues to work itself towards the New Year. The inventory continues to decline. We now have 32 single family homes on the market this week. We had one new listing come on the market. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and found lots to be thankful for.  This past week was pretty slow in real estate – not surprising – hopefully everybody was getting in family/friend time. Hopefully December will pick back up. Prices seem to be a little more compressed than last month.
